Let me say I honestly did not expect this after the BN juggernaut's win in the Hulu Selangor by-election - but I am elated!

 Most were not surprised that BN retook HS from PKR given  the purported millions of Ringgit dangled before voters.


The final analysis seem to show most of the Chinese  still voted for PKR. It was only the Malay and Indian votes that turned the tide to BN's favor. How quick the Indian community have had a change of heart. In 2008, with temple demolitions, body-snatchings and Hindraf dominating the headlines, their frustration and anger was boiling.

We sure could do with a dash of good tidings in these ever dark days in Malaysia. 1Malaysia is yet another political gimmick by the PM. Joseph Goebbels said "if you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." At least some of them all the time or all of them at some time!

Ah yes, the good news is Datuk Chua Jui Meng quit MCA to join opposition PKR on Saturday. We all had a sneaky feeling that he was going to do that. I hope more BN people will open their eyes and have the courage to follow suit.

Let's do it Under a Tree

Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen, including mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, arrive outside the State Secretariat just after 9am this morning but police personnel barred them from entering. Either the cops know the law better than the Bar Council or the law does not matter. It can be modified to suit BN's requirements.

Undaunted the reps convened under a tree just 200 meters. Three votes were passed in the fourth meeting of the first session of the 12th assembly. The motions were to express confidence in Nizar as mentri besar; calling on Nizar to seek a dissolution of the state assembly; and endorsing Sivakumar’s suspension of Zambry and the de facto BN executive council.

So the Perak sultan is once again under pressure to act. Yeah there's a whole lotta acting going on in our backwater politics.

Nine Demonstrators Detained Near Iskandariah Palace

(Bernama) -- Nine men were detained after over 2,000 Pakatan Rakyat (PR) supporters turned violent and clashed with police near Iskandariah Palace here Friday.

The supporters became violent when police stopped them from moving towards the palace where Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir was being sworn-in as new Menteri Besar before the Sultan of Perak.

Perak police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said the nine detained aged 22-55 include an Indonesian national.

"They are detained for rioting using weapons and can be jailed a maximum five years upon conviction," he told a press conference at Kuala Kangsar police headquarters here.

When people feel that even the laws of the land are less than fair this is what will happen. Malaysia sang the praises of the Palestinians facing the mighty Israeli army's tanks and Apache gunships with handheld guns, they said resistance was natural. So what did Malaysian government expect the PR supporters to do? Fact is the protesters were mainly vocal and not violent. As usual the cops fired teargas.

No dissolution of Perak Assembly; Sultan orders MB to resign;

The Sun IPOH (Feb 5 , 2009) : Sultan Azlan Shah has decided not to give his consent to the dissolution of the Perak state assembly and has ordered Menteri Besar Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and his state executive council to step down with immediate effect.

The office of the Sultan of Perak, in a statement today, said that after meeting all the 28 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen and the three independents, the Sultan was convinced that Mohammad Nizar had ceased to command the confidence of the majority of the state assembly members.

God save Malaysia! How in the world did the sultan not consent to dissolve the state assembly. Oh yeah, this is Boleh Land and anything goes!

Perak State Government in Turmoil

Barisan Nasional Perak has secured the majority of state seats to form a new Perak Government after four Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen turncoats left their respective parties and pledged allegiance to the BN. Two PKR and one DAP assemblymen left their respective parties and became independents "friendly" to the BN. A fourth assemblyman - Nasarudin Hashim of Bota who left Umno and joined PKR - has stated his intention to rejoin Umno.

In Boleh Land $$$ is king. These PR reps are totally shameless. Nevertheless it will be temporary as PR will return, STRONGER!

Nasarudin is first BN rep to join Opposition

PETALING JAYA: Bota assemblyman Datuk Nasarudin Hashim is quitting Umno to join PKR, making him the first Barisan Nasional elected representive to join the opposition party after the general election last year.

News of his defection sent shockwaves in Umno circles in Perak and around the country.

Pakatan Rakyat will now have 32 assemblymen in Perak, with Umno having one fewer at 27.
