2015 - Start of the Breakdown?

It has been two and a half months since 6% GST was implemented on April 1st and prices of many goods have spiked. All this despite half-baked claims by ministers who preached that prices will remain unchanged and in some goods even reduce.

The timing of this consumption tax could not have come at a most inconvenient time when generally the economy was already flat. Malaysians must be very clueless or very lazy - so docile in accepting anything as FATE!

Fuel (i.e. petrol) subsidy was removed on December 1, 2014 when world prices were at an all-time low. Still we got a raw deal as our pump prices were controlled by government and not a true reflection of real world prices. Today we pay RM2.05 per litre for RON95 and you don't have to be Einstein to know it will be higher in the coming months.

On the Opposition front, the pact of PKR, PAS and DAP is virtually over following PAS reneging on agreement not to impose Islamic law. All this is good news to the ruling coalition and we wonder if the next election (GE14) will matter.

Oh well, that's life!

Justice The Malaysian Way

A Malaysian court has sentenced opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to five years in jail after overturning his acquittal on sodomy charges. All too convenient for the government as this effectively puts Anwar out of the coming Kajang by-election.

GE13 was Disgusting

Everyone knew this would be dirty but what happened filled us with utter disgust at the way BN hung on to power, even if it is for another term. We'll crush them next time. Then again this regime will work their magic to by more gerrymandering.

GE13 on May 5

Prime Minister Najib has announced the date for the 13th general elections, finally! We'd thought he'd never decide and maybe even allow parliament to dissolve itself. Oh well.

Khir Toyo gets 1 year jail for graft

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo was found guilty by the High Court here Friday of knowingly purchasing two pieces of land and a bungalow in Section 7 at a much lower price than its original value from Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Hayroni in 2007.

With elections around the corner, the PR machinery of the government has offered their 'sacrificial' lamb - with the hope of winning a few more votes. So Toyo loses his mansion and get a jail term which he will appeal against. That's justice? Full story here

DAP Wins Sibu by-election

Let me say I honestly did not expect this after the BN juggernaut's win in the Hulu Selangor by-election - but I am elated!

Boleh Land U-Turn

On Sep. 2 the Home Minister (can't recall the name, the keris wielding fella) said there was nothing wrong with the "cow head" protest. And yesterday the Attorney-General Tan Sri Gani Patail confirmed the people involved will be charged under the Sedition Act and for illegal assembly. He plays the fool all over again!

One wonders what game the BN people are creating now!

Listen to the war cries "allahu akhbar" (god is great) and threats that blood will flow!!!

The police remain consistent in silencing the opposition but allowed the more seditious "cow-head" protest to inflame the Hindus!

Kg Buah Pala files declassified

For sanitised BN-friendly report Kg Buah Pala files declassified

Or real reporting. According to the documents, the land was approved for alienation to the cooperative twice by the BN state exco, led by then Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, on Aug 18, 2004 and June 8, 2005.

The premium agreed upon was RM6.42 million or RM20 a sq ft. It was subsequently reduced to RM3.21 million or RM10 a sq ft. (Estimates have put the land’s worth at between RM30 million and RM40 million.) The Sun

“The chronology of events prove beyond a shadow of doubt that Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon And His Umno, MCA, MIC and Gerakan cohorts had robbed Kampung Buah Pala residents of their land without consulting them,”
Guan Eng said in a statement issued today. Full story at TheMalaysianInsider.

How about that! How would you like to pay RM3 million for something that's worth RM40 million? Malaysia Boleh!

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees were freed on Sunday morning in one of new prime minister Datuk Seri Najib's first action.

Among those released (with conditions) were Hindraf leaders R. Kengadharan and V. Ganabatirau who were held under the ISA in late 2007. Others include seven members of Darul Islam Sabah, one from Jemaah Islamiyah and three foreigners who detained for alleged documents forgery.

Opposition members believe the gesture is merely an election ploy to help BN improve its chances in the Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau by-elections on Tuesday.

Of course it is BN's ploy and I have a feeling the PM was itching to do this asap. It further makes Badawi (previous PM) look bad, as if he could look any worse! PM has nothing to lose. After all the ISA "revolving door" is always open and one wrong move and freedom is gone.

Load up the Cannons

malaysiakini
Chaos broke out at the Brickfields police station in Kuala Lumpur this morning as the police sprayed chemical-laced water at about 300 supporters of detained Hindraf leader P Uthayakumar.

The supporters were accompanying nine people representing nine states and a relative of Uthayakumar, who intended to lodge police reports alleging that Uthayakumar was denied proper medical attention for his ailment.

300 is too few. Many a despot has been brought down when tens of thousands of citizens marched in the name of freedom. Clearly we see the FRU treat the Hindraf supporters like dogs.

UMNO thugs attacks invalid

A GROUP of 22 men claiming to be Selangor Umno Youth members confronted DAP chairman Karpal Singh. just outside the Parliament tower block yesterday.

In the 2.45pm incident, the men surrounded the Bukit Gelugor MP, shouting and demanding that he retract the word celaka which he had used in reference to Umno Youth during his debate speech on Wednesday.

Unlike other MPs, Karpal Singh – who is wheelchair-bound – uses the ramp at the tower block to enter the Parliament building. The Star

‘Again we see the thuggish and samseng attitude of Umno Youth members. What's really appalling is that Umno leaders, instead of condemning this barbaric act, are actually encouraging it more.' Malaysiakini

I bet there will NOT be any action taken on these scums. More likely they'll get a pat on the back by their paymasters. Bravery personified as they require over 20 morons to intimidate an old man in wheelchair! In Boleh Land, the law is truly "blind".

UMNO Sleeping Beauties

Bila masa kerja mengantuk pula. Mana ini nak maju?
