We live in dangerous times

Published: 1 August 2015

The current political turmoil and the impending clash between the newly minted Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Bersih 4.0 are going to shake our political landscape, for better or worse.
Zahid, who is also the Home Minister, would want to flex his muscle to show who’s in charge. Going by recent events, it is unlikely that he will let the Bersih 4.0 organisers and protesters have it their way.
1MDB is turning out to be a snowball crisis for Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s administration.
The financial scandal claimed its biggest victim yet, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The former deputy prime minister, who has nearly nothing to do with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), was euphemistically “dropped” from the Cabinet under a reshuffle.

I agree with author that we are indeed living in dangerous times. So few can get away with so much is worrying. The people have a little under four weeks to Bersih 4.0. Whether it can gather an attendance larger than the highest turnout thus far of 300,000 remains to be seen but I am optimistic it can.

Note: Syok sendiri in Bahasa Melayu or Malaysia or whatever means self gratification. Typical Malaysian action to 'choose' which nation to vilify.

Khir Toyo gets 1 year jail for graft

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Mentri Besar Dr Mohd Khir Toyo was found guilty by the High Court here Friday of knowingly purchasing two pieces of land and a bungalow in Section 7 at a much lower price than its original value from Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Hayroni in 2007.

Malaysia Police & MACC = Danger

In most civilsed nation the security personnel protects and serve the people unless you live in Malaysia aka Boleh Land. Here unless you are rich and powerful you should be very concerned if you are arrested or even hauled up for questioning. The sudden death of opposition member Teoh Beng Hock on July 16 is yet another statistic.

The The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) instead of going after Khir Toyo after news about his RM24 million mansion, goes after the opposition. If Toyo actually earned so well from his dental business how much taxes has he paid? Biased? Racist?

I am sure this is yet another 'nail' into the BN coffin! Come people, brace yourselves for the next tsunami!

Abdul Kudus Gets Jail And Fine For Corruption

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- Former Ampang Jaya Municipal Council enforcement director Capt (R) Abdul Kudus Ahmad was sentenced to 11 years 10 months jail and RM370,000 fine by the Ampang Sessions Court here today on 24 counts of corruptly soliciting and accepting bribes totalling RM59,000.

Judge Noradidah Ahmad found him guilty after ruling that the defence had failed to cast a reasonable doubt on the prosecution's case. The trial stretched nearly six years, starting on Aug 9, 2003, and involved 12 prosecution and 12 defence witnesses including former deputy Housing and Local Government minister Datuk M.Kayveas.

Kudus, 46, was sentenced to five months in jail on two counts each and six months for each of the rest but the jail terms run consecutively.
His lawyer had the cheek to say his client was a small fry and there are bigger fish involving bigger sums but they escaped punishments. Kudus is a small fry and not a shark. It is unfair if sharks got off. Well I'd say one scumbag at a time!
