Sri Lankan troops seize last Tiger town

AFP. January 26, 2009: Sri Lankan troops on Sunday overran the last town controlled by Tamil rebels, army chief Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka said, striking a major blow in Asia's longest-running ethnic conflict.

"We have completely captured Mullaittivu," the army chief said in a televised address to the nation.

Thousands have died in this major offensive to wipe out the rebels including civilians but the world is quiet about this. Unlike the Israeli offensive in Gaza last week which drew flak from the world including Malaysia the Great!

What hypocrisy! Maybe the fact that the victims are Tamils who are Hindus and not Moslems have a lot to do with this!
